PROFILE: I joined Meyer-Reumann & Partners since May 2021 as a Senior Lawyer. I specialised in international tax law and advise international clients on all aspects of the tax law, with special experience in connection with German, Austrian and UAE tax law. My practice areas also include Corporate/M&A as well as all facets of company formation in the UAE (free trade zones, offshore and onshore), labour law and immigration law. BACKGROUND: I obtained my law degree from the Humboldt University of Berlin as well as my second state examination and therefore the right to practice as a German lawyer at the Higher State Court in Berlin as of 2015. Since 2021, I have been admitted officially to the bar of Berlin. Prior to joining Meyer-Reumann & Partners, I worked for Strohal Legal Consultants at Ras al Khaimah; and as an in-house Counsel in an insurance company in Berlin, Germany. Since 2017 I teach part-time at the Modul University Dubai on principles of commercial law and speak regularly at business councils in the UAE. MY WORK FOCUSES MAINLY ON: Advising clients on international tax law in connection with Double Treaty Agreements and other tax related issues. Advising clients of key legal issues affecting company formations. Supporting clients on all matters related to company formations such as immigration and employment issues. Advising and supporting clients about their succession planning and drafting of their wills as well as foundation establishment. Supporting and advising clients with set up and management of vehicles such as Trust and Foundations. Advising clients on the ESR economic substance regulations and the relevant activities. Advising and assist clients with their relationships with banks and tax authorities, obtaining tax certificates. I also advise individual and corporate clients in Contract Law, including negotiating, drafting, reviewing and advising on various types of agreements and legal documents (e.g. agency agreements, employment contracts, sale and purchase agreements) mainly drafted under German, Austrian and UAE laws.
