Being a polio survivor in a small village in Nigeria, I never once lost hope about creating a better future for myself even though the odds were against me. I completed my primary school life, writing examinations on hospital beds. My ‘miraculous’ recovery from polio made me even more determined to live my life purpose. I walked several miles daily to school on a deformed foot barely supporting the rest of my body. Nonetheless, the hard work paid off as all exams were passed with flying colors. Headed off to the university where I graduated with a bachelor degree in foreign languages. Fast forward to the United Arab Emirates, a land of opportunity, a safe and generous country that has helped me to manifest greatness and abundance. I obtained a postgraduate degree in International Studies from the University of Wollongong in Dubai which later granted me the 10 years golden visa status based on my academic achievement as a distinction student. Additionally, I met an exceptional orthopedic surgeon who gave me a second chance by ‘fixing’ my deformed foot. This doctor has become a wonderful husband with whom I created a loving family. Here I am in the multi-cultural city of Dubai, raising third culture kids (TCKs) and living a self-fulfilling life while helping others to do the same.
